After collaborating on multiple system upgrades across Australia, Surf Life Saving New Zealand (SLS NZ) have chosen a combination of Omnitronics’ DX-Altus and RediTALK systems to be installed across New Zealand.
Over the course of a few years, SLS NZ are upgrading their Analogue Conventional Radio Network to a DMR Tier II Conventional Radio Network including a Dispatch and Infrastructure solution to suit.
Meeting network priorities of Central Dispatch, Location, Interoperability and Scalability, Omnitronics’ dispatch solutions were the selected as the preferred supplier. Additionally, each region will have the choice of radio vendor, which Omnitronics’ range has the flexibility to adapt to.
The first phase of this implementation is complete, with RediTALK and the DRG100 passing interoperability testing with the Hytera DMR Tier II Donor Radio interface including advanced features such as GPS tracking and Call History.
“Omnitronics is extremely pleased to have been chosen by SLS NZ to be part of their Digital Radio System Upgrade program. Having worked with SLS NZ and Australia for many years we have gained a good understanding of the unique operational challenges facing these organisations and their need for a dispatch solution with the flexibility to interoperate with a range of digital and analog radio systems. Being able to provide both donor radio and direct IP interfaces to a variety of DMR Tier 2 Radio Systems was also a key factor.” says Bruce Forward, Manager, Oceania & International Sales. “We look forward to continued work with SLS organisations for many years to come.”
